Welcome to Shortgrass Land and Cattle, where we are committed to helping grilling enthusiasts like you find healthy yet extremely delicious cuts of beef so that you can finally have the best quality of cut to show off your cooking skills. Have you ever bought a grocery store cut just to find out that it had a bad quality or smell after you already planned on cooking for friends? You cooked everything right, yet the meat was still dry and tough? Well, that is where our story begins.
Just like many of our best customers, we understand what it is like to forfeit your bragging rights as best backyard cook for something that wasn’t your fault! That is why in 2022 we launched Shortgrass Beef.
With generations of ranching experience, a dialed in cow/calf operation, and a lot of hard work we were committed to doing things the right way. Today, we are recognized as the leading farm-to-table meat producer our customers have grown to know and trust.
At Shortgrass Land and Cattle, we are committed to grassfed, grain finished, humanely handled, pasture raised, fed only locally sourced grains, having full lifespan on ranch, home raised without any use of the growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics, feeding of animal by-products, unethical treatment, or lifetime confinement that you will find in most available sources. We believe this is essential for providing a quality product that is healthy for families and healing for the environment.
We are proud to be a part of the farm-to-table movement and to be able to offer our customers the highest quality meat that has many health benefits but still possesses the marbling and fat content preferred by avid grillers. A meet in the middle between store bought feedlot beef and lean grass finished beef.

USDA Inspected
Shortgrass beef has been inspected by the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service. Our meat is processed by a local certified butcher using the one-animal-at-a-time method, small batch, just like we like it.

Pasture Raised
Our Black Angus cattle spend their lives grazing our pastures in Cimmaron County and Logan County, Oklahoma as well as Dallam County, TX on the Rita Blanca National Grassland. Shortgrass beef is then finished on our pasture grass and a locally sourced grain based ration.
